It has been a couple of years now since we last held a fall Young Adult Retreat, so I am greatly looking forward to this year’s event. This past spring, we did something a little different by not having one speaker for the weekend but rather utilizing different sessions and multiple speakers. We are going to do that this time as well, with an added emphasis on application and discussion. This type of retreat would be a terrific opportunity to invite someone that would benefit from a more relaxed atmosphere while focusing on a pertinent issue in all of our lives – no matter what stage we are in.

Pastors Dave Smith (Westerville Bible Church) and Michael Conn (Calvary Bible Church) will be exploring the topic of Contentment: Being satisfied in Christ and with His calling. These sessions will take place on Friday night and Saturday morning with a time for questions, discussion, and application in the afternoon on Saturday. Please make the time to join us as we seek to define what real contentment is and apply that truth to our individual situations and struggles. All the while, we will still practice the fellowship that we learned about this past spring and enjoy the time spent together around meals, in prayer, and through activities.

What to Expect

The retreat will be held at Peniel Bible Camp. Our first official event is dinner at 7 PM on Friday, October 19. You can certainly arrive earlier, though, and we plan to finish by 3 or 4 PM on Saturday (and you’re welcome to leave later). You will be staying in A-frame cabins with other young adults, and if we fill those cabins, we’ll use the lakefront area. If necessary, preference will be given to those who register earlier. Feel free to dress casually, but please dress modestly and appropriately so as not to detract from the goal of the weekend.

What to Bring

The cost is $30 which includes overnight accommodations and three meals. Bring your Bible, notebook, bedding, toiletries, and appropriate clothing for both the weather and recreation.
