Why Christianity? The Glory of the Gospel

We are excited to let you know that we will be holding another Young Adult Retreat on October 23–24 at Peniel Bible Camp sponsored once again by the CORE Young Adult Ministry of Westerville Bible Church. Plan to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation this fall season with friends (and future friends) while we rejoice in the God of Creation and His love for us.

This will be a great time to invite friends, coworkers, and classmates as we will be focusing on the greatness of the gospel contrasted with the emptiness of man’s wide range of replacements. We hope that this will not only be a time to expose others to the gospel message but will also equip you to answer questions that you might face when sharing the gospel. The three sessions will be as follows:

  • What Makes Christianity So Good? The Beauty of the Gospel
  • Does It Matter If God Exists? The Problem of Atheism
  • Is Christ Really the Only Way? The Problem of Pluralism

Our Speaker

Ben Edwards serves as Executive Pastor of Inter-City Baptist Church. He serves as the Director of Urban Ministry for Inter-City, leading the evangelistic and discipleship efforts of the campus ministry team at Wayne State University and coordinating outreach into the Detroit Midtown area. He has been on staff since 2008. He and his wife, Jo, have two sons, Ethan and Rhys.

What to Expect

The retreat will be held at Peniel Bible Camp. You will be staying in A-frame cabins with other young adults. If you would like to request to stay with someone in particular, please let us know when you register. Feel free to dress casually, but please dress modestly and appropriately so as not to detract from the goal of the weekend.

What to Bring

The cost is $30 which includes overnight accommodations and three meals. Bring your Bible, notebook, bedding, toiletries, appropriate clothing for both the weather and recreation, and money (if you would like something from the Snack Shop or Store).
