Paul was appointed to be a “servant and witness” (v. 16). As disciples, we have no higher calling or greater privilege than to be servant-witnesses for Jesus Christ.

Paul would soon be assaulted and arrested. This was not evidence that he ignored the Spirit, but that he was at the Lord’s disposal. Success was not to measured by how many in the city embraced his message, but in how faithful he remained to his Lord.
