Jesus was launching the next step in his eternal plan, the Church for which he died. He did this in the heart of Jewish territory, Jerusalem, that they might marvel at his plan. God made a glorious statement at Pentecost. The Lord was alive and working through his Spirit in his Church!

Jesus didn’t leave his disciples with a question mark, but an exclamation point. The body of Christ, the church, in order to go in power and change the world, must first— Be convinced of his resurrection power. Be commissioned for global witness. Be comforted with and compelled with the Spirit’s presence.
