Summary

New Testament evangelism was comprehensive and personal, the natural overflow of the lordship of Jesus Christ in the life of his disciples. All of Jesus’ disciples were commissioned and authorized to take the gospel to the whole world. They were commanded to follow Jesus’ teaching and example, submitting every area of their lives to him. As they did, they “turned the world upside down” (Acts 17:6). Last week, we looked at the evangelists (the messengers) and the evangel (the gospel message). This week we will turn our attention to the evangelized (the recipients of the gospel).
