A Better High Priest

A Better High Priest

Jesus Christ is a superior high priest to any Old Testament priest because he was called by God to be a priest in Melchizedek’s order, which was superior to Aaron’s order. Furthermore, he holds his priesthood permanently because of his endless life, becoming “the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.”

Better Than Moses

Better Than Moses

Jesus, God’s faithful Son, is superior to Moses, God’s faithful servant and the “founding father” of Old Covenant religion. Just as the Israelites in the wilderness could not enter God’s rest because of unbelief, we too ought to strive to enter that rest by persevering in faith in Jesus Christ.

Better Than Angels

Better Than Angels

Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is superior to God’s prophets and servants, the angels. If the Law revealed by God’s prophets and angels punished those who disobeyed, we must not turn away from faith in God’s Son. His incarnation and suffering for sin makes him the perfect Brother Priest.

What We Should All Be “Guilty” Of

What We Should All Be "Guilty" Of

Do This…

Hot Potato

Hot Potato

Behind all these plots to kill and attempts to save, God is working out his purpose in and through Paul as he does through us today.

Ambassadors in Chains (part 2)

Ambassadors in Chains (part 2)

Paul could say, “I am ready…to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus” (21:13). Can we say with the same resolve that we are ready to live for him? Part 1
