Conference Theme
This year our conference theme is taken from Romans 15:8–9: “So that the nations glorify God for his mercy.” Why should we be committed to missions? All through the letter to the Romans, Paul shared his passion for and dedication to the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ. He was not ashamed of it; he was a debtor to it. Our Lord broke down the barrier that existed between Jew and Gentile. He brought peace and made us one in him. Believers are to be unified and cooperate in the effort to get out the message of new life in Christ. God the Son came as a faithful servant in order that God the Father might be worshipped as Master of all.
Our commitment to missions should be driven by our desire to see God glorified for his mercy to sinners. All who receive the gospel are transformed by its power. As people impacted by grace, we are driven to spread the word that Jesus calls sinners to repentance. Missions is “for the sake of his name among all the nations” (Rom 1:5). We are saved and we witness to God’s grace so that the glory of God might be clearly manifested to and through all nations in this age.
