- Though we are still unable to gather together, we should not be discouraged. As we consider this week and Resurrection Sunday, we are vividly reminded that Christ is victorious and we need never be discouraged. His victory was forged on a cross and announced first by an empty grave and since then through those of us who have been purchased with the blood of the Lamb.
- Even though we can’t gather at the ministry center, remember it is only the center—ministry is supposed to spread outside of these walls. Ministry is still happening and I encourage you to consider some fresh ways in which you can minister in your sphere of influence. Also, please continue to reach out to us with status updates, praises, and prayer requests.
- Calendar items:
- We would have been going to the nursing home tomorrow. Please pray for the residents and staff of these facilities.
- Camp cleanup on April Saturdays have been cancelled. Be in prayer for the camps that are working on contingency plans for possible restrictions this Spring and Summer.
- If we are able to gather in May, we are still planning to hold Elder/Deacon elections on the first Sunday that we return.
- We are tentatively planning to hold our Annual Business Meeting on May 20th (this is contingent on our ability to gather earlier in May)
- Birthday reminders:
- Rita Garrett – Sunday
- Mary Rupert – Tuesday
- Dan Corey – Wednesday
- Harold Hammond & Samantha O’Brien – Friday
- Regarding offerings, first, let me say that the church’s financial position is still relatively strong and we praise the Lord for providing for our needs. We need to be in prayer for other churches that are struggling financially at this time.
We obviously all still have expenses and that isn’t going to change. Since we haven’t had our business meeting yet, the Elders have agreed that we should continue to operate under the numbers from our previous budget.
If you would like to give an offering, contact Pastor Smith regarding best practices for that.
- Our weekly sermon will be available by early morning Sunday for those who would be interested in a sunrise service. Our Scripture reading is from 1 Corinthians 15 and the outline for the sermon can be downloaded from here.
We will be lead in singing the following hymns:- One Day
- Christ the Lord is Risen Today
- The One Who Lives Again
